Don’t mean to be that “on this day in history” guy, but I can’t believe it’s been exactly twenty-five years since a prepubescent ROCKthusiast stumbled through the gates of the now-gentrified Molson Park in Barrie to experience arguably the best Lollapalooza lineup in my lifetime. I still vividly remember seeing Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, A Tribe Called Quest(!), The Breeders, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars(!!) as well as The Smashing Pumpkins, who were great headliners but had a tough act to follow in the form of Beastie Boys. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a crazier mosh pit, and I would get hit with a plastic bottle filled with gravel at Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden at the same venue a week later. This video doesn’t come close to capturing the intensity of that day, but it was the best I could find sorry. Were any ROCKthusiast readers or subscribers at that show or any other Lollapaloozas? Would love for anyone to comment on this thread, tweet or email me their memories…however hazy.
